Victoria P. Cox

Victoria P. Cox, age 80, of Hammond, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2022.

Victoria is survived by her daughters: Kimberly (David) Kissee, Tamara (Rick Guerrero) Cox, Tracy Cox and Christen (Steve) Disbrow; grandchildren: Amandalynn, Antonio, Jeremy, Jessica, Kristen, Branden and Tyler; special niece, BaBette; several great grandchildren, cousins, a niece and a nephew.  Victoria was preceded in passing by her life-long companion, Gene Alger; her parents: Arthur and Wilma Jewel Garrett-Perniciaro; sister, Juanita Halape; stepfather, Charles Perniciaro; grandson, Armando Escobedo and granddaughter, Stacy Cox.

Victoria worked for the Hammond City Clerk's Office and later for Kuppinger Heating and Cooling for many years before retirement.  She was a member of Southside Christian Church.  In her younger years, Victoria enjoyed bowling.  She was very passionate about shopping, and loved her hairstyle done to perfection.  She loved gardening and loved basking in the sunshine.  In her free time, you would find her watching one of her "Chicago shows" as she watched them all: Chicago PD, Chicago Med and Chicago Fire.  Often times she would go to her favorite restaurant, The Wheel, in Hammond.  She dedicated a lot of time to Genealogy as she had a great love for her family.  Victoria will be missed by all who were lucky enough to have known her.

A Memorial Visitation will take place on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at LaHayne Funeral Home 6955 Southeastern Avenue, Hammond, IN 46324 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM. A Memorial Service will follow at 3:00 PM with Pastor Kevin Groban officiating.  Memorial donations may be made directly to the family.
