Rodney Jay Washington was born June 2, 1966, to Patrice Wadlington and Alfred Washington in Chicago, Illinois.
Rodney is a talented young man who had a love for music and cars. Rodney could fix anything his magical hands touched, especially cars. In 1984 Rodney met the love of his life, Khandi; they married, had two children and spent 40 years together. Rodney attended Doolittle and Bond Elementary as well as Roberson High School on the southside of Chicago. Rodney was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. Rodney had a heart of gold and an impact on any and everyone he came into contact with. Rodney was a friend and protector to everyone he loved. On November 4, 2023, Rodney was called home to reunite with his mother Patrice; his two grandmothers: Ruby and Daisy; his mother in-law, Linda; and most importantly his daughter, his Babygirl, Raven who all preceded him in death. Rodney leaves behind to cherish his memory his forever love and best friend, Denise Khandi Washington; his son, Rodney Jay Washington, Jr.; his grandson, Thomas Jr; his granddaughter, Michelle; his father, Alfred; three brothers: Laroy, Cordale, and Bobby; Three sisters: Latasha, Latoya, Latronica; fifteen nephews, nine nieces. He also leaves behind several great nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles and a host of cousins and friends. Rodney will truly be missed, especially his signature fried chicken.
