Margaret "Margie" Spisak

Margaret Spisak, age 77 of Demotte passed away peacefully on Friday June 5, 2020.

Margaret was born in East Chicago, Indiana and was a graduate of George Washington High School. Margie worked at Indiana University and later at Inland Steel Company where she retired after 30 years of service. Margie was also a licensed cosmetologist.

Margie had many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins, who will treasure their memories of time with Margie. Margie also cherished the many lifetime friendships that came as a result of her engaging personality. Special thanks to the staff at VNA Hospice and Aperion Care Demotte.

Margaret had many creative talents including ceramics and knitting and was an avid reader of astrology and mystery books. In addition, Margie enjoyed watching and feeding the birds, playing Scrabble, and working crossword puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her parents Michael Spisak and Mary E. Spisak nee Virus, her brother Michael (late Carol) Spisak and her sister Mary (late Don) Davison.

Friends are invited to meet with the family on Monday, June 15, 2020 from 9:30 AM until time of service at 11:30 AM with Reverend Keith M. Virus, Pastor officiating at LaHayne Funeral Home, 6955 Southeastern Avenue, Hammond, Indiana. Interment to follow at Saint John Saint Joseph Cemetery in Hammond, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee, post office box 393, Hohenwald, Tennessee 38462.
