On this day, January 8, 2021, Jack Bolanowski, prolific Jazz/Rock drummer, has become a member of the "Great Almightys' Rock and Roll All-Star Heaven Band". He is survived by the love of his life, Gladys Colón; children: Eric J. Bolanowski and Aaliyah R.C. Colón; Grandchildren: Hunter Bolanowski, Noah Bolanowski and Evan Bolanowski; Zowie the dog, Misha the cat, and Turtlie the turtle; his nephews and niece: Aristotle Galanos, Rafael Colón, Nathaniel Colón and Elena Thomas; and extended family Belinda Galanos, Martha Colón, Raquel Colón, and Rafael Colón, Jr. Jack was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Ruth Bolanowski.
Jack was born on April 29th, 1952, to Joseph and Ruth Bolanowski. He was a lifelong resident of Hammond and the owner of Castlewood Distributors. Alongside of owning Castlewood Distributors in Hammond he was a drum teacher, and his students would never hesitate to come talk with him. Jack's passion for drumming began at the age of 14 with his band the Mojos. He played for numerous bands and opened for Aerosmith at the Palladium with his band Hyway. Jack was a huge White Sox fan and was a left-handed pitcher. He met the love of his life, Gladys, at Dirty Sally's when their eyes met across the crowded room.
