F. Mark was preceded in passing by immediate family members: mother, Lorretta Roach; sister, Teal Burt as well as his beloved canine & guardian companion, Maggie Mae.
Frankie was born in Hammond, IN, baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, and for the better part lived in NW Indiana his whole life. In 2005 he decided to make a move to Kenai, Alaska to start a new life chapter and remained a resident of Alaska for the rest of his days. He absolutely loved it there, and rightfully so. Some of the most genuine people anyone would ever have the pleasure of meeting can be found in Alaska and he found real joy and solitude in the Last Frontier.
What people will remember fondly about Frankie was his sense of humor as well as his booming voice. He never needed a mic and and suffered very little from stage fright. His strengths came with decisive attributes both positive and negative! Taking pleasure in the limelight presented him with opportunities as well as obstacles, and unequivocally, he knew both well.
Frankie was proud to be an American, a loyal lifelong Cub fan and Bears fan; an Elton John fan since the 70's. He also loved animals, camping, making people laugh, reading, & writing (especially poetry) and will be missed but not forgotten.
A private Christian service to include scattering of cremated remains will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond, IN. on October 9, 2021 at 10:45 AM with Rev. Dale M. Zylstra of Christ Lutheran Church of Hammond officiating. A private coming together of family and friends will be held directly afterwards.
