Delores "Dee" Rodgers

Delores “Dee” Jean Rodgers (nee Gilson), 89, Hammond, IN passed away Thursday, October 5, 2023, at the Munster Med Inn, Munster, IN. She is survived by one brother, Ray (Barbara) Gilson of Schererville, IN; three children: Rhonda (Bob) Rettig of Hammond, IN, Sandy Goldston of Knoxville, TN and Ron (Donna) Stephenson of Newark, DE; six grandchildren: Ashley (Don) Jarvey, Adria, Nathan (Amy) and Amanda Goldston, Rachel (Ben) Lynch and Beth Anne (Rob) Sippola; ten great-children; and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her loving husband Robert Rodgers; parents, Deyo and Fern Gilson; and sister Iris Carter. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 13, 2023, at 7 PM at LaHayne Funeral Home, 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Friday from 3 to 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the family would be appreciated. Delores was a resident of this area for all her life, former owner of Bob and Dee's Ceramics, a member of Linger Longer Recreation Club in Florida, and Hammond Moose Lodge #570.  She loved spending time with her family, doing word searches, fishing, and eating ice cream.
