William F. Mauch, age 63, of Hammond, IN, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2009. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Sharon S. (nee Vasilko); 5 children, Rebecca, Daniel, Kimberly, Erin, and Nicholas (Jackie) Mauch; 2 grandsons, Andrew and Colin Mauch; 1 brother, James (Kris) Mauch; Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at 10 AM from LaHayne Funeral Home, 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond, IN with Rev. Stanley Dominik officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 from 4-8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to The THEGEZE FUND of the Hammond Public Library, 564 State St., Hammond, IN 46320. William was a lifetime resident of this area, a Commissioner for Historic Preservation Commission of the Hammond Historical Society, a founding member of the Hammond Community Theater, and worked as a graphic artist for Amoco Oil Co. in Chicago, IL He loved the outdoors and was an avid reader.
