William "Bill" E. Sample, JR, age 63, of Hammond, passed away suddenly Saturday, February 6, 2016. Loving cousin of Roger (fiancée Dawn) Brock and Randy Brock. Lifelong friend of Russ Slape and Stan Levin. Preceded in death by his parents Hazel and William Sample, SR. Bill was a graduate of Hammond High, Purdue Cal and Ivy Tech. His prized possessions were his 2 Trans Ams and he raced as a semi pro at Illiana Speedway. Bill would travel around the Midwest enjoying NASCAR. He looks forward to being reunited with his dogs Rusty and Tico in Heaven. Bill was loved by many and will be missed by more.
