Walter "Danny" Barr, age 76, US Army Veteran of the Korean War, of Hammond, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2014. Beloved Husband of 38 years of Roberta "Bobbi" Jones-Barr. Loving Father of Kim (Dave) Koryczan, Cynthia (Frank) Hernandez, Cherie (Robert) Batista, and Shelly Bell. Proud Grandfather of Katie Koryczan, Jenny Koryczan, Rory Batista, Lake (Sean) Iverson, Simone (Matt Miranda, and Jeremy Barr. Dearest Great-Grandfather of Aidan Iverson. Devoted Brother of Bill Barr and Polly (J.R.) Simpson. Fond Uncle of many Nieces and Nephews. Danny enjoyed spending time with his family fishing, gardening, and bird watching. He retired after many years with Local Union 578 Pile Drivers. He will be missed by his canine buddies Jax and Cheyenne. He was loved by many and will be missed by more. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Friday, May 23, 2014 from 3 PM until time of Service at 8 PM at LaHAYNE FUNERAL HOME, 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond, IN. Interment will be Private.
