Vestie E. Edmond (nee Landers), age 79, of Hammond, IN passed away Thursday, May 27, 2010. She is survived by her children, Larry (Shirley) Edmond and Terry L. (Daphny) Edmond of Linden, TN, Gary W. (Sandy) Edmond, Brenda (Alan) Kritikos, Bernice (Doug) Janiszewski, and Tina Grabos, all of Hessville; 12 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; 1 great, great grandchild, due in August 2010; 3 brothers and 1 sister in TN; many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bennie and Claris Landers, husband, Robert Edmond, Jr., 2 brothers, 2 sisters, and long time friend, Jerry Duff. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 11 AM from LaHayne Funeral Home, 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond, IN with Rev. Michael Pennanen officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Lane Memorial Park, Schererville, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the family would be appreciated. Vestie was born on December 15, 1930 in Linden, TN. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, absolute friend, vivid quilter and gardener. Vestie was a longtime Hammond resident and worked for Chapman Cleaners for 12 years.
