Verna Bibzak, age 80, of Hammond, IN passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2010. She is survived by 2 children, Raymond (Joyce) Bibzak of Mokena, IL and Linda (Mark) Kolodziej of Hammond, IN; 4 grandchildren, Justin (Danielle) Kolodziej of Shakopee, MN, Kevin Kolodziej of Waukesha, WI, Christopher (Adrian) Bibzak of Downers Grove, IL and Sarah Bibzak of Joliet, IL; 1 great granddaughter, Fiona Bibzak of Downers Grove, IL; 1 sister, Margie Gelon of Highland, IN; 2 brothers, Richard (Judie) Gelon of Dyer, IN and Albert Gelon of Highland, IN; 1 sister-in-law, Lorraine Kowal of Munster, IN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene R. Bibzak, and brother, John Gelon. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 30, 2010 at 9:30 AM from LaHayne Funeral Home, 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond, IN and 10 AM Mass from St. John Bosco Church, 7113 Columbia Ave., Hammond, IN with Rev. Richard Orlinski officiating. Entombment will follow at St. John/ St. Joseph Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Sunday from 2-6 PM at the funeral home. Verna was a lifetime resident of this area, a member of St. John Bosco Church of Hammond, IN and retired from Housekeeping at Calumet Construction Co.
