Suzanne Marilyn Cook

May 24, 1937 - April 26, 2024

Suzanne (Sue) Cook, age 86, went to meet Jesus on April 26, 2024, surrounded by her family. Sue was born on May 24,1937, to John and Ethel Wilhelm.

Sue is survived by her daughters: Pam (Greg) Simms of Valparaiso, IN, Jane (Jay) Minnick of Liberty, MO, Susan Bryce of Munster IN; stepdaughter, Cindy (Allen) Coup of Mt. Carmel, TN,  grandchildren: Melanie (Ben) Belsheim, Katie (Ben) Purnell, Gregory Simms Jr, Stephen Simms, Clayton (Meghan) Minnick, Addison Bryce, Mikayla Minnick, Erin Bryce, Jocelyne (Trevor) Gagnon, Tim Coup, Jeremy (Kristie) Gagnon, Alexandra (Jason) McCracken; and great grandchildren: Wyatt, Finnley, Madelynn, and Hunter Belsheim, Susanna and Louisa Purnell, Olivia and Ava Tugby, Knox Coup, Jack and Lily McCracken; brother, John Wilhelm of Fremont, IN and sister Gretchen Fleming of Dyer, IN. Sue was preceded in death by her parents: John and Ethel Wilhelm; husbands: Carl Michel, George Cook, and Edward Knight; daughter, Cynthia Michel; stepdaughter and husband: Tracey and Rick Gagnon; and stepson, Randy Cook.

Sue believed that Life is a Journey.  The road throughout her journey allowed Sue to be a faithful member of Ridge United Methodist Church, serving at a homeless shelter, running the church rummage sale, being involved in several Bible studies a week, getting together with her "Slices" and serving as a missionary in Jamaica and Haiti for over 16 years. She was also a travel agent, a secret shopper, and an usher at Theatre at the Center. Sue's greatest joy was spending time with her family.  She was always ready to support her grandchildren in their adventures.  Sue found joy in all things and felt grateful and blessed.

Friends are invited to celebrate Sue's life with her family on May 18, 2024, from 1pm until the time of the service at 3pm at Ridge United Methodist Church, 8607 Columbia Ave, Munster, IN 46321.
