Obituary
Shirley E. Carter nee Byrd, age 83, of Hammond, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, September 21, 2019.
Loving mother of Rickey L. Novak. Cherished sister of Roberta Gasparini. Proud grandmother of Jennifer (Luis Vargas) Novak, Michelle Novak, James (Carmen) Novak, Tina (Jason Lyndsey) Duran and Samantha (Jarrael) Duran Henry. Dearest great-grandmother of 11. Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. Devoted mother-in-law of Sharon Robert) Novak Duran.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ivan Carter, her parents Eugene and Helen Byrd and her brother Richard Byrd.
A Celebration of Shirley's life will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2019 from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM at LaHAYNE FUNERAL HOME, 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond, Indiana.
