Sharon L. Lee nee Genovesi, age 59, of Merrillville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 18, 2015. Beloved wife for 39 years to Michael P. Lee. Loving mother of Paul Michael Lee. Devoted daughter of Stephane (Henry Kleefisch nee Drozd. Cherished sister of James (Julie) Genovesi and Darlene (Edward) Seyk. Dearest sister-in-law of Mark T. (Maureen Luchene) Lee. Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Alfred "Fred" A. Genovesi and her in-laws William and Roberta Polite. Sharon was a graduate of Gavit HS and went to Purdue University. In her early years, she worked at the Whiting Clinic and the Hammond Clinic before ending up at St. Margaret Hospital in Dyer. Sharon was a fantastic cook and loved spending time with her family and was great at throwing parties, especially holiday parties for them. She enjoyed relaxing with her furry friend Milo, in fact, they both became pros at it. Sharon was loved by many and will be missed by more. Friends are invited to Celebrate Sharon's life on Thursday, October 22, 2015 from 3 PM until 8 PM at LaHAYNE FUNERAL HOME, 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond, IN. Service will be held on Friday, October 23, 2015 at 11 AM at LaHAYNE FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Stanley J. Dominik officiating. Interment at Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, IN.
