Roy W. Mills, age 79, US Naval Veteran, of Hammond, passed away Monday, January 21, 2013 Beloved Husband for of the late Bonita Mills nee Smithers. Loving Father of Rochelle Mills, Terry Mills, Robin Mills, and Rohanda White. Cherished Brother of Jerry (Bobbie) Mills and late Judy (late Ray) Sawyer. Proud Grandpa of Sheila (David) Prutsman), Christy (Gary) Crowley, Jeffrey Chaffee, Joshua Mills, Tiffany (David) Earley, Dustin Schultz, John (Erica) Grubich, and Dawn White. Dearest Papa of 12. Fond Uncle of several Nieces and Nephews. Roy retired after 29 years with the City of Hammond. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing. He was a big fan of the Bears, the Cubbies, John Wayne movies, and crossword puzzles. He was always up for some pizza with anchovies. Most of all, Roy loved spending time with his family. Family and friends are invited to meet with the family on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 from 3 PM until 8 PM at LaHAYNE FUNERAL HOME, 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond. Service will be held on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at the funeral home with Rev. C. James Facklam, Pastor officiating. Interment Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond.
