Rosario "Russ" A. Romano, age 70, of Crown Point, passed away peacefully at home Sunday, April 24, 2011. He was born Jan. 15, 1941 to the late Frank and Sarah Romano of Hammond. Preceded in death by Phyllis Romano of St. John, the mother of their 2 children, Anthony Romano of Crown Point and Lee (fiancé Robert Nagy) Romano of Merrillville. 3 grandchildren; Laura (James) Donelson, Jeremy Gjebre, and Anthony C. Romano. Russ was also expecting the arrival of his first Great-Grandchild later this summer. He is survived by his 4 siblings Frances (late Ray) Bannister, Frank Romano, Dominick (Wanda) Romano, and Rose (Phil Santino) Romano and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as aunts and uncles. After a lifetime of honesty, integrity, and hardwork, he retired from Local 41 Labors Union in 2000 which left him with time to enjoy the company of devoted family and close friends. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Thursday, April 28, 2011 from 3 PM - 8 PM at the LaHAYNE FUNERAL HOME. Burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Hammond, IN.
