Ronald W. Detterline, age 73, of Hammond, IN., passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2025.

Ron is survived by his daughters: Lori (Rick) Berdine, Lisa (Jake) Cory and Jennifer (Greg Guernsey) Havlin; grandchildren: Nicholas Berdine, Alex Berdine (fiancée, Meghan Garcia), Alyssa (Mike) Drinski, Brandon Cory (Kaylee), Johnathan Cory (fiancée Peyton Yelich), Zack (Brylee) Cory, Kylee Havlin, Connor Havlin, Samantha Havlin; great granddaughter, Sawyer Drinski; brother, Al "Butch" (Nora) Detterline; sister, Debbie (Terry) Schuster; several nieces, nephews; special friend, Alaina Laskarin.  He was preceded in passing by his parents: Alvin and Lucille Detterline and his sister, Kathy McBride.

A Memorial Visitation will take place on Sunday, April 27, 2025, from 1:00PM-4:00 PM at LaHayne Funeral Home located at 6955 Southeastern Avenue, Hammond, IN 46324.

Ron was a former director of facilities at the Lake County Convention and Visitors Center.  He was a die-hard Bears, Cubs and Blackhawks fan. He was an avid lotto player and played all his grandkids' birthdates faithfully. Ron always had a passion for music and dancing and was known as the "Dancing Detterline's" with his girls. Ron loved hanging out at the Boulevard Lounge with all his special friends. He will be remembered for being the best storyteller and the greatest jokester.  His contagious laugh will forever be remembered. Ron will be deeply missed by all who knew & loved him.
