Rodney "Rod" A. Zech, age 63, US Army Veteran, of Whiting, passed away suddenly surrounded by his family on Thursday, January 29, 2015.
Beloved husband for 26 years of Sandra Kay Zech nee Pridmore. Loving father of Jennifer King and Julie (Bobby Lindsey) King. Devoted brother of Cleo (Ron) Senor. Proud grandfather of Adam Thompson, Courtney Scott, Madison Edmaiston, and Roel Lindsey. Fond uncle of Jill Senor. Dearest nephew of Jim Facklam. Preceded in death by his parents Francis A. Zech and Dona M. Zech nee Peeples.
Rod loved watching all kinds of sports in his man cave, especially the Cubs. He retired after 32 years with Inland Steel. Rod loved traveling, go on cruises, and his many trips to Vegas. He was loved by many and will be missed by more.
Friends are invited to meet with the family on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 from 4 pm until 8 PM at LaHAYNE FUNERAL HOME , 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond, IN. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at 11 AM with Rev. C. James Facklam, Pastor officiating at LaHAYNE FUNERAL HOME with cremation to follow.
