Robert "Bobby" W. Newman, age 90, of Hammond, passed away suddenly Thursday, December 6, 2018.

Loving father of Charles "Dennis" (Susan) Newman, Kerry (Debbie) Newman. Proud grandfather of Brett (Elizabeth) Newman, Julie Newman, Jason (Carrie) Newman, Jessica (Frank) Przyblo, Olivia Newman, and Grace Newman. Dearest great-grandfather of Caroline Newman. Cherished uncle of numerous nieces and nephews. Beloved brother-in-law of Effie Shelton.

Preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Verna Dale Newman nee Sweeney and his son Anthony "Tony" C. Newman, his parents Ernest and Lennie Newman, and his siblings Conrad Newman, William Newman, Ernest L. Newman, Dayton Newman, Ben Newman, James Newman, Yost Newman, Juanita Anderson, Rachel Malone, Thelma Hendrix, Ruth Newman, and Florence Newman.

Bobby was born in the mountains of Kentucky where his love for hunting and fishing carried over to his adult life. He was most proud of his title of Paw Paw. Bobby was loved by many and will be missed by more.

Graveside Service will be held on at 11 AM on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 with Rev. C. James Facklam, Pastor officiating at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 8278 Cline Ave., Crown Point, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society Calumet Area.
