Robert "Bob" M. Brauer, age 74, US Army Veteran, of Hammond, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, March 16, 2015. Beloved husband for 48 years to Dorothy A. Brauer nee Medley. Loving father of Joseph M. (Carrie) Brauer and Scott T. Brauer. Devoted brother of Roland (Patsy) Brauer and Richie Brauer. Proud grandfather of David J. Brauer. Dearest great-grandfather of Noah M. Caudill. Fond uncle of numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in life by his parents Martin F. and Ann S. Brauer nee Nadzieja and his brothers Chester, Walter, Edward, Rennie, and Martin and his sisters Dolly Kusakowski and Emily Parysz. Bob was a die-hard Cubs and IU Basketball fan. He loved working with wood and crafts. He worked many years with Components Incorporated until they closed up and retired after 18 years as the head custodian with St. Paul Lutheran Church in Munster, IN. He will be missed by his furry friend Castiel. Bob was loved by many and will be missed by more.
