Richard A. Johnson, age 47, of Hammond, IN passed away Thursday, October 29, 2009. He is survived by 1 daughter, Lauren (Justin Plantz) Johnson of Hammond, IN; 1 grandson, Zaidian Plantz of Hammond, IN; father, Euel (Christine "Louise") Johnson of Jasper, AL; mother, Ovella (Robert) Topolski of Carbon Hill, AL; 1 sister, Glenda (David) York of Russell Springs, KY; 1 brother, Steve Johnson of North Judson, IN; 1 step-sister, Shelly Wings of Merrillville, IN; 1 step-brother, Tim Johnson of Austin, TX; nieces and nephews; special friend and caregiver, Dorothy Houx of Hammond, IN. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Susan Barbee and Teressa Scott. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 5, 2009 at 9:30 AM from LaHayne Funeral Home, 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond, IN with Pastor Sidney Mauldin officiating. Burial will follow at St. John/St. Joseph Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
