Richard "Dick" Brambert, Sr., 78, of Hammond, Indiana, passed away on March 28, 2020, after years of battling COPD.

Richard was born in South Bend, Indiana on July 23, 1941. He was a Navy veteran, stationed in Italy. After serving, he was an electrician for Inland Steel and Deitrich Industries for many years before retiring in his early 70's. He was a member of Teamsters Local 142. Those who loved him knew him as a die-hard Notre Dame fan. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, going to high school and local sports games, watching Fox News, and watching Hallmark movie marathons.

Richard was married to Cherri T. Brambert (Blacke) on October 30, 1970. They were married for over 38 wonderful years before her death.

Richard is survived by his son, Richard, Jr. (Shanan) of Indiana, daughter Jessica of Texas, and his grandchildren, whom he loved immensely, Caitlin (25), Morgan (21), Madeline (19), Echo (18), Hailey (16), Rhiannon (10), and Michael (3), all of Indiana.

Richard is preceded in death by his wife Cherri, parents Walter and Alice, sister Patricia and brothers James and Robert.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, July 24, 2020 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at LaHAYNE FUNERAL HOME , 6955 Southeastern Avenue, Hammond, Indiana.
