Patricia Joan Vose Miles, age 97, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024.
Patricia is survived by her children: Martin (Sabina) Cain, Pamela (Bernardo) Cain-Gonzalez, James (Roseann) Cain; daughter-in-law, Gabrielle Cain; son-in-law, Stephen Burris; grandchildren: Jennifer (Brian) Kaplan-Johnson, Amanda (Christopher Thomas) Cain, Joshua Kaplan, Paul (Kelly) Cain, Julia (Jason Moffitt) Bunge and Kyle Cain; great grandchildren: Jurian, Kaelin, Jarod, Madelyn, Kayla, Zoey, Eliza, Wesley, Makenna, Jase, Aiden and CJ; nephews: Philip (Mary) Vose and Gary (Melinda) Vose; Numerous step-children, cousins, great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in passing by her parents: Martin and Josephine Vose, brother: Roger (Betty) Vose; daughter, Kathleen Cain Burris; daughter, Barbara Cain Falk; son, Gregory Cain.
Patricia Vose Miles was born and raised in Evanston, Illinois. She attended St. Athanasius grade school and Marywood High School, both in Evanston. In 1946, while attending Barat College in Lake Forest, Illinois she met her future husband, Wesley Cain, who had just recently returned home after serving in the Pacific theater during WWII. They had six children together. She enjoyed music, socializing, and reading her Bible. Pat was a committed follower of Jesus Christ and was happiest when attending Bible studies. In the early 1980s, Pat moved to Florida and was a resident there for nearly 40 years. In 2019 she moved to Indiana to be closer to some of her remaining children. Pat had a love for life; and everyone enjoyed her infectious laughter. She will be greatly missed.
A Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 10:00AM DIRECTLY at Saint Athanasius Church located at 1615 Lincoln Street, Evanston, IL. Committal will follow to Saint Mary's Cemetery 1835 Waukegan Road, Northbrook, IL.
