Patricia
Grillion
Apr 22, 1959 — Aug 9, 2026
Hammond, IN
Patricia “Patty” Grillion, beloved daughter, sister, life partner and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2026, in Hammond, Indiana—the very city where she was born on April 22, 1959.
Those who knew Patty were always struck by her warmth, her irrepressible kindness, and her ability to make everyone feel welcome. Her hands were forever busy—whether skillfully tending a garden, coaxing vibrant blooms from the Indiana soil, or piecing together the intricate beauty of stained glass. It was in these simple, joyful pursuits—making stained glass, gardening, and caring for flowers—that Patty expressed so much of her creativity and zest for life. Each hand-crafted piece and each blossom was a testament to her unending curiosity, care, and gentle spirit.
Professionally, Patty forged a remarkable path in the food concessions industry, sharing her enthusiasm and determination with all those she worked with. Her proudest accomplishment perhaps was as Co-Owner of California Donuts, a venture that blended her passion for food with her love of serving others. In every aspect of her work, Patty demonstrated an incredible perseverance and fierce devotion to those around her.
Patty’s impact also extended into the broader community through her leadership. As a Past Governor of the Showmen’s League of America, she championed the values of fellowship and service, leaving a legacy that will long be remembered by friends and colleagues alike.
Patty’s loss is felt deeply by her loving life partner, Dave Jaros; and she is mourned by her siblings: sister, Cris Muir; brother, Rich (Karen) Grillion and sister, Sandy (Roy) Hofmann; and her many nieces, nephews and great nieces. The memories they hold of laughter, shared adventures, and unbreakable bonds will continue to provide comfort in the days ahead. Patty is now reunited with her dearly departed parents, August and Irene Grillion, whose guidance and love shaped the remarkable woman she became.
Patty’s life, though ended far too soon, was filled with kindness, beauty, and a sense of unwavering dedication that touched all who were fortunate to know her. Her spirit lives on in the gardens she loved, the stained glass that sparkles in the sun, and the hearts of those she leaves behind. May her memory be both a blessing and an inspiration.
