Mildred F. Coleman, age 89, of Dyer, IN passed away Thursday, May 14, 2009. She is survived by 5 children, Louise "Joy" (Stewart) Powell, Mary Jo (Tim) Peters, Joseph Coleman, Ernest "Skip" Coleman, and Teena Farmer; 12 grandchildren, Linda, Tammy. Gardner, Michelle, Michael, Jennifer, Joe, Nick, Autumn, Angie, Sarah, and Katie; 6 great grandchildren, Dimitri, Brittany, Miles, Morgan, Max, and Christopher; 1 great great grandchild, Mia; 1 sister, Josephine Stringham; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Coleman, and her dog, Buffy. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 18, 2009 at 12 Noon from LaHayne Funeral Home, 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond, IN with Rev. Byron Kaiser officiating. Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Monday morning from 11 AM until time of services. She was the owner of Antler Lounge and Tiny Tap in Hammond, IN, a diehard Cubs fan and enjoyed doing needlework and working on jigsaw puzzles.
