Michael A. Pramuk, age 63, of Valparaiso, passed away Monday, October 17, 2016. Beloved husband of Cynthia S. Pramuk nee Chamberlain. Loving father of Courtenay (Andrea) Pramuk, Jordan Pramuk, Rheannan (David) Denham, and the late Nathaniel (Cristina) Pramuk. Loving step-father of Chad (Kim) Ritter and Dana Ritter. Proud grandpa of Joseph Cherep, Lillian Pramuk, Madalyn Pramuk, and Natalia Pramuk. Proud papa to Haylee Carothers, Anthony Denham, and Austin Ritter who will join us shortly. Dearest son of late Arthur J. and late Helen A. Pramuk nee Savage. Michael was born in Chicago, IL and raised in Northwest Indiana. He graduated from Bishop Noll Institute in 1971 and went on to attend Indiana University where he earned his degree in Education. Michael then began working as a high school English teacher at Hammond Tech in 1975 until 1981. He then we on to teach at Hammond High School while also pursuing his masters degree in Education from IU Northwest. It was there at HHS, that he met his beloved wife Cynthia. He retired from teaching in 2010, then continued his relationship with the School City of Hammond in the operations department. Michael loved the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, where he spent 33 years working the various races and being promoted to North Vista Supervisor. He had a special fondness for his many track friends and coworkers. Michael was loved by many and will be missed by more. Friends are invited to celebrate Michael's life on Thursday, October 20, 2016 from 4 PM until 7 PM at LaHAYNE FUNERAL HOME , 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond, IN. Interment will be private.
