Michael P. O'Reilly, SR, age 84, US Naval Veteran of WWII, of Hammond, passed away Friday, May 17, 2013. Beloved Husband for 60 years to Eileen O'Reilly Loving Father of Michael P. (Jeanne) O'Reilly, JR, Louise (Jimmie) Williams, Susan Avery, Pam (Lino) Rios, and Patricia (Stanley) Calhoun. Proud Grandfather of 23 Dearest Great-Grandfather of 54 Preceded in death by his Daughter Cathleen "Bunny" and 4 Brothers who all perished in WWII and 1 Sister. Michael was born in New York to Fay and Michael O'Reilly on August 20, 1928. As a member of the Navy, he traveled across the country and settled in Chicago in 1952. Here, he worked for 43 years in construction as a roofer. He relocated to Hammond in 1987. He was a Brooklyn Dodgers and 49er's fan, enjoyed watching Westerns, playing cards, exploring the outdoors, making people laugh with his stories, and spending time with his family and friends.
