Michael "Papa" Berkley, age 74, of Whiting, IN, passed away on Wednesday, July 30,2025.

Michael is survived by his children: Evie Berkley-Rimkus; Michael "Bo" & Michelle Saksa; grandchildren: Safire (Ryan) Beach, Lexie Saksa, Heather Tyrka, Michael Saksa, Dylan Rimkus; great grandchildren: Alannia, Penelope, Elliot and Shella; his fur-baby, Daisy; sister, Phyllis (Bob) Grawberg; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  Michael was preceded in passing by his parents: Roy and Bonnie Berkley, and Clara Berkley; siblings, Bill, Shirley, Violet and Joseph.

A Funeral Service will take place on Friday, August 8, 2025, at 7:00 PM at LaHayne Funeral Home located at 6955 Southeastern Avenue, Hammond, IN with Fr. Jeffrey Burton officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4:00 PM until time of Service at 7:00.

Michael was retired from Ford Motor Company.  He liked fishing and enjoyed watching music videos on YouTube.  He loved College Basketball, especially Syracuse University. Michael was a family man and cared for all of his neighbors and friends.  He was most proud of his earned title of "Papa".  Michael will be deeply missed by all who love him.
