Max Stiefel, age 59, beloved son of late Hershel Naymon and late Vima Mae nee Lands went home to be with The Lord on Sunday, June 08, 2014. Leaving behind wife of 33 years, Verna. Loving Brothers: Hershel (Judy) and Charles (Yvonne) and in-laws: Viola (Richard), Anna (John), Carolyn (Jim), and late Don. Fond Uncle of Billy (Mary), Michelle (David), Michael (Renee), Tracy (Ed), Matthew and Dale (Lindsay), late Pam, Donna (Mike), Jimmy (Kristen), Patricia (Shawn), and Diane. Numerous Great–Great Nieces and Nephews who held a special place in his heart. Also Uncles, Aunts and Cousins. Max married Verna on June 13, 1981. He attended Lafayette and Hammond Tech. He was Pitcher for the "Elves" Maywood Little League "67" Champions – Hammond District 2 and was a 4 year Letterman for Hammond Tech, 70-73 for Baseball. He worked at LaSalle Steel as a Die Maker and will be missed by his co-workers. He enjoyed his job and always gave 100%. He loved Gatherings of Family, Friends and Church, all sports, fishing, traveling, music, dancing and any chance to help or make someone laugh. He was Loved by all who knew him. You will be missed by all until we meet again. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Thursday, June 12, 2014 from 3 PM until 8 PM at LaHAYNE FUNERAL HOME, 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond, IN. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 13, 2014 at 10:30 AM at LaHAYNE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Jeffrey Hannon officiating. Interment Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond.
