Mary Ann Wood nee Gateka, age 69, of Griffith, passed away Friday, November 8, 2013. Loving mother of Denise Ann (Hubert) Weaver of Hammond, IN, Steven Craig (Amy) Wood of Baxley, GA, and Susan Lynn Montez of Paragould, AR. Beloved sister of Barbara Jean Hicks of Longview, LA. Proud grandmother of Tiffany (Anthony), Brandon, Jennifer (Gerrett), Justin, Vanessa, and Kenneth Weaver, and Taylor (Amanda) and Morgan Wood, and Bryan (Riley) Carter, Raymond (Haelie) and Stephanie Montez. Dearest great-grandmother of Antwon, Amir and Avion Sutton, and Brooklyn Amber Wood, and Raymond Tate Montez. Fond aunt of Jeffrey and Jason Hicks. Cherished former wife of Carl Edward Wood, Jr. Beloved canine friend Ronnie. Mary received her BA and BS from Calumet College of St. Joseph in Whiting, IN and her MBA from the Univ. of Chicago Graduate School of Business in Chicago, IL. She belonged to the American Management Assoc., the National Assoc. of Female Executives, and the University of Chicago Women's Business Group. In her spare time, Mary enjoyed reading, swimming, and walking. Funeral Service on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at 11 AM at LaHAYNE FUNERAL HOME 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond.
