Mary A. Wong, 94, of Munster, IN, passed away peacefully on Saturday May 23, 2026

Mary is survived by her children: Dr. Cathy Wong (John Smolnicky, DDS), Helen Mehok, JD (Emery Mehok), Patty Nuzzo (Joe Traina) and Peter Wong, JD; her granddaughter, Nicole Nuzzo; grand dogs: Hector and Tootsie Roll; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in her passing by her parents: Ping Sing Lee and Wong Shee Lee; husband, Dr. Samuel N. T. Wong; brothers: Abraham Lee and Chune Lee; dog, Max; Grand Dogs: Jaxon, Mani, Jake, Molsie, Daisy, Cara and Tapi. Special thanks from the family to her caregiver, Prisca.

Mary grew up in Chinatown in Chicago and moved to NW Indiana after her marriage in 1955. Not only did Mary love her dogs and her family, she lived all of her years as a caring, compassionate, witty and overall sweet person. She was the BEST dog sitter and they all loved staying with her. She loved dining out with the family. She learned to text and regularly joined in the family group texts! She lives on in the ways she has touched our lives. She will be missed by all.

Per Mary’s wishes, private family services were held at Elmwood Cemetery with Fr. Keith Virus officiating.
