Mary Ann Gonzalez nee Butler, age 59, of Hobart, passed away on Tuesday, April 07, 2015 at St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart surrounded by those who loved her dearly. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was known best as "MA" to those that knew her. Cherished wife of Jose I. Gonzalez. Loving mother of Lacey (Michael) Lowe, JR, Jose I. Gonzalez, III, Daniel C. Gonzalez, Jeremy M. (Regina) Gonzalez, the late Candace Jo Gonzalez, Ruben J. Gonzalez, and Hillary P. (Joseph) Sulls, JR. Devoted sister of Bonita Butler, Bobby Butler, Lucy Butler, and Roger Butler. Proud grandmother of 14. Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. Mary Ann joins her parents Jay and Marion Butler nee Hamlin.

Mary Ann loved her kids, grandkids, and her Pepsi. She worked at Edison JR and SR High School in Lake Station, Indiana as well as at Speedway where she was loved by many customers. When her husband Jose would hunt, she would always tell him that she will cook it, but she won't eat it. Mary Ann once hit a ten point buck while driving with her oldest daughter.

Visitation and a service to celebrate Mary Ann's life with her family and loved ones will take place on Saturday, April 11, 2015 from 10 AM until time of service at 12 Noon at LaHayne Funeral Home , 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond, IN with Pastor Victor Ortiz.
