Marvin L. Gillim Jr. "Len", age 79 of Hammond, IN., passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 2021.

Marvin is survived by his children: Chris (Anitra) Gillim, Ken (Sherri) Gillim, Lori (Harold) McKinney; his grandchildren: Deanna Gillim, Christina (Chase) Patterson, Devin Gillim, Colin McKinney; his great grandchild, Keith Patterson; brothers: Terry (Cindy) Gillim, Don (Tina) Gillim; uncle and cousin to many.  Marvin was preceded in passing by his parents, Marvin Sr. and Dorothy Gillim.

A Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at LaHayne Funeral Home 6955 Southeastern Ave. Hammond, IN. 46324 with Pastor Esta Rosario officiating.  Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, IN.  Friends are invited to visit with the family on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 from 4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M.

Len was a graduate of Morton High School and was a member of the band which took first place in their State Competition.  After Graduating High School, he proudly enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and achieved a rank of Lance Corporal. He later worked for and retired from Sargent and Lundy in Chicago.  Len enjoyed golfing and was proud to say he had made a hole-in-one.  If you were lucky enough to hear him sing karaoke, he was most undoubtedly singing one of his go-to Military Medleys.  Len was an avid Chicago sports fan and loved the Chicago Bears, Cubs and the White Sox.
