Mark S. Alexander, 57, of Hammond, IN, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017. He was born May 12, 1959, the son of the late Jewell Alexander Sr. and the late Flora Alexander. Mr. Alexander was also proceeded in death by his brother, Jewell Lee Alexander Jr. He is survived by his loving wife, of 37 years, Glenda C. Alexander; Children, Tina (Michael) Caston, Marsha (Micheal) White Jr., Mark (Kelley) Alexander and Jamielee (Jenna) Richardson. He was the proud PawPaw to his 17 grandbabies; Nathan, William, Lukas, Jazmine, Anthony, Aidan, Autumn, Micheal, Olivia, Scarlett, Mark Jr., Katrina, Kendra, Canyon, Kali, Jasmine and Draya. He will also leave behind his many sisters, brother in-laws, sister in-laws, nieces and nephews. Mr. Alexander was a carpenter who hung Drywall for 41 years. He was an automobile enthusiast who loved working on vehicles in his garage and driveway. He will be greatly missed and always in the hearts of family and friends. The memories will last a lifetime. My hands are clenched around the steering wheel. The engine's rumble sounds so sweet. My foot is pressed with the pedal to the metal. The world slips by beneath my feet. The music blaring and raging winds on either side, drum a beat of sweet contentment as I ride this… My last ride. Alone on my tin carriage, to the heavens I've been called, but fret not, my dear loved ones, I am not lonely here at all. The landscape is just a blur as the tears stream from my eyes. My car and I leap forward, off into the calling skies. I hope I touched your lives one day and left a treasured mark. Now I ride on to forever, with your memory in my heart.
