Luisa R. Rivera, age 83, of Merrillville, passed away on January 10, 2013, peacefully surrounded by her family. Beloved Sister of Joe (late Eva May) Rivera, Virginia (late Frank) Cerros, late Reyes (Margarita) Rivera, and late Antonio (late Luz) Rivera Fond Aunt of many Nieces and Nephews She enjoyed the good times with Beth and her Mom Marilyn Weber who visited her in the hospital and her home and shared many moments of talking and laughing. Luisa's loved spending the Holidays, especially Christmas, with her Family and her house mates. Her Catholic faith was a pillar of her life and she enjoyed the fun visits from Father Erlin, who she remembered over and over again with great joy. She will always be remembered for her little laugh. She was loved by all and will be missed by more. Her Family wishes to thank Sherrita, Maria, Mary, Abil, Jessica, and many others who touched her life day by day and who cared for her dearly. Special thanks to Dr. Shah, Dr. Maniar, Dr. Anigbo, Dr. Apata, and the staff at Methodist Hospital in Merrillville for their loving care they showed her. Lying in State on Monday, January 14, 2013 from 10 AM until time of Mass at 11:30 AM at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 1445 Hoffman St., Hammond with Rev. Erlin Garcia, Pastor officiating. Private Interment at Gary Oak Hill Memorial Park, Gary where she will be laid to rest with her Mother. Funeral Service entrusted to LaHAYNE FUNERAL HOME, 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond.
