Obituary

Luis "Rock" Aguilera, age 83, US Marine Corps Veteran of the Korean War, of Hammond, passed away Friday, March 21, 2014. Loving Husband for 58 years to Elvira "Vera" Aguilera nee Pena. Beloved Father of David (Diane) Aguilera, Lisa (Randall) Kuchik, and Ruthann Aguilera. Proud Grandfather of Alexandra (Jon) Smith, Natalie Kuchik, Olivia Kuchik, Veronica Vasquez, Victoria (Jay) Ayers, and Michael Jimenez. Dearest Great-Grandfather of 3. Special Son to the Padilla Family. Luis retired after many years with Inland Steel. He was a Past Lions President of the East Chicago Evening Lions, a Past District Governor of Lions District 25A, a Melvin Jones Fellow of Lions Club International, a member of Raza de Bronce. Luis was a member of the American Legion East Chicago Allied Post 369, was on the current Board of the Tri-City Special Games, was a member of Local 1010, a past Boy Scout Leader. Luis was the current Commander of the S/Sgt. William G. Windrich Chapter of the Korean War Veterans. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 from 2 PM until 8 PM at LaHAYNE FUNERAL HOME , 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond, IN. Funeral Service also Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at 5 PM with Reverend Charles A. Mosley, Pastor officiating followed by a Lions Memorial Service and followed by a Service performed by the American Legion East Chicago Post 369 and the US Marines Corps at LaHAYNE FUNERAL HOME .
