Louise M. Overmeyer, age 95, of Hammond,, IN passed away Friday, January 1, 2010 at the Hammond-Whiting Care Center. She is survived by a daughter, Lois Josway of Hammond, IN; 3 granddaughters, Nancy (Larry Owens) McBride of Monticello, IN, Lori McBride of Griffith, IN and Melinda (Ron) Plawecki of Griffith, IN; 3 great grandsons, Eric (Kyra) McBride of Lafayette, IN, Matthew and Mark Plawecki of Griffith, IN; 1 great great granddaughter, Jade Nyla McBride of Lafayette, IN; brother, George (Alice) Boucher of Crown Point, IN; sister, Elena Overmeyer of Highland, IN; former son-in-law, Robert (Kathleen) McBride of Monticello, IN; 2 sisters-in-law, Geraldine Overmeyer Kitchen of Argos, IN and Vada Overmeyer of Umatilla, FL; many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Neil Overmeyer, son-in-law, Thomas Josway, Sr., brothers, Walter and Raymond Boucher, sisters, Gladys Smith and Neldine Wescott, and parents, Walter and Elsa Boucher. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at 10 AM directly from St. John Bosco Church, 7113 Columbia Ave., Hammond, IN with Rev. Richard Orlinski officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Mercy Cemetery, Gary, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Monday, January 4, 2010 from 4-8 PM at LaHayne Funeral Home, 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond, IN and Tuesday at the church from 9:30 AM until time of services. A prayer service will be held Monday at 4:30 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to St. John Bosco Church or Humane Society Calumet Area. Louise was a lifetime resident of this area, a member of St. John Bosco Church, and was formerly employed at Alexander's Book Store in Munster, IN.
