Lorette Lucas, nee Walski, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2015. A lifelong resident of Hammond.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Joe, siblings Esther, Irene, Fr. Jerry, and Leonard Walski, Alice Knapp. Her survivors include sons James (Lynn), Jack (Corinne), Jeff (Patty), daughter Jill, five grandchildren, one great-grandson, many nieces and nephews.
Her adventures included being trapped in a bank vault by robbers at her first job, and test driving a tank at Fort Knox. A pioneer in business, she and her husband Joe established a manufacturers rep business in 1950. She continued the company with two of her sons after his death, remaining active until her passing. She was a parishioner at OLPH Catholic Church for over 60 years, and a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority.
