Linda Lee (Earl) Demantes left his earth to meet her heavenly Father on Sunday, January 12, 2025.

She is survived by her four sons: William Demantes Jr. of Hammond, Todd (Holly) Demantes of Dyer, Kevin (Chrissy) Demantes of Schererville, and Brian (Heather) Demantes of Highland; 11 grandchildren who called her Mimi - Brendan, Valerie, Baylee, Jacob, Bella, Noah, Sofia and Jenna Demantes and Owen, Tyler and Max McKeebe; sisters-in-law: Pat (late George) Earl of St. John and Marion (late John) Maniotes of Munster. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, William (Bill) Demantes; her parents, George and Betty Earl; her brother, George (Skip) Earl; and sister-in law, Connie (late Tom) Hamer.

Linda was a faithful and lifelong member of Hammond Christian Reformed Church where she served as Sunday School Teacher and Coordinator of many Christmas programs and Vacation Bible Schools through the years.  She directed the Junior Choir, sang in the adult choir and was a member of Coffee Break and Bible Study groups.  A graduate of Hammond High School (1961) and Indiana University (1965), she directed the Community Christian Nursery School for twelve years at her church and spent 25 years teaching Hammond school children at Harding and Wallace elementary schools.  She was honored to be included in "Who's Who Among America's Teachers". Linda was an avid gardener and loved traveling the world with her husband.

Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, January 15 from 4-8 pm at LaHayne Funeral Home located at 6955 Southeastern Avenue, Hammond.  Funeral service will begin at 10:00 on Thursday, January 16 DIRECTLY at Hammond Christian Reformed Church located at 1910 167th Street, Hammond, with Pastor Josh Christoffels officiating.  Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond.
