Lila M. Miles nee Mair, age 81, of Hammond, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2015.

Loving mother of Linda (Michael) Gift and Marianne Miles. Devoted sister of Lois Sako. Proud grandmother and great-grandmother of many. Fond aunt of numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents Ray and Mildred Mair nee Gilbertson; her daughter Alice Miles and her son Michael Miles; and her brothers Perry, LaMonte, and Charles Mair.

Lila was very active with the Community of Christ Church. She loved sewing and at one time had her own custom drapery business. She was retired from the Lake County Treasurer's Office. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, and Japanese gardens.

Friends are invited to meet with the family on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at 1 PM at the Community of Christ Church, 8629 Kennedy Ave., Highland, IN for a Memorial Service with Pastor Ryan Perryman officiating. There will be a pot luck immediatly following the services. People are encouraged to bring a side dish, dessert, or beverage.
