Leona Mae Parsley, age 89, of Hammond, IN, passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2023.

Leona is survived by her son, Jerry (Mary) Parsley; grandchildren: Jacqueline (Jason) Rivera, Jason Bogs (Michele) and Brian (Molly) Bogs; great grandchildren: Aiden Rivera, Aubrey Rivera, Adriana Rivera, Brooks Bogs and Chance Bogs; brother, Ken (Paulette) Rogers; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in passing by her husband, Rufus Boyd Parsley; son, Kenneth Parsley; and her siblings: Harold "Sonny" Rogers and Sandra Boothe.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2023, at 11:00 AM at LaHayne Funeral Home, located at 6955 Southeastern Avenue, Hammond, IN 46324, with Pastor Kevin Groben of South Side Christian Church in Munster.

Friends are invited to visit with the family at 10:00 AM until the time of Service at 11:00 at LaHayne Funeral Home.

Leona was a long-time member of Southside Christian Church in Munster where she enjoyed involvement in many groups including the Senior Saints and proudly spent time as Past-President of the National Women's Missionary Union.  She spent a lifetime collecting, trading and owning antiques, including running her own business, "Parsley's Antiques".  Leona and her husband Boyd would frequent Shipshewana often as well as maintained their own Antique booths in Crown Point.  Leona loved being outdoors and loved her visits to the parks and beaches.  More than anything, Leona loved her family and was especially proud of her earned title of "Granny".  She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
