Lawrence "Larry" Zuver, 67, of Lansing, IL was called to peace and passed away suddenly on Wednesday May 10, 2017 in Hammond, IN. He was born November 27, 1949 to Charles and Dorothy Zuver Sr. in Meadville, PA. He spent most of his life living in Lansing, IL. Larry is survived by his daughter Amanda (Scott) Sumrall. Proud "Gramps" to two loving grandsons Jaden Scott and Peyton Cole Sumrall and other extended miscellaneous family. He was preceded in death by his parents Dorothy and Charles Zuver Sr. and his brother Myron Park Zuver. Larry was a caring man with a good soul. He enjoyed anything automotive and was a skilled transmission mechanic who could fix anything, earning the nickname "Doc". He enjoyed old western shows, hunting white tail deer in Pennsylvania, pheasant hunting, building pretty much anything, and spending time in the garage. Larry is a veteran who served in the United States Army as a Marine Engineer. He was very proud of his daughter "his pride and joy" and loved her with all that he had. Larry fought many demons in his short life. Everyone who remembers him is asked to celebrate Larry's life in their own way, however raising a glass of their favorite drink in his memory would be quite appropriate. Instead of flowers please pay it forward and do an unexpected and unsolicited act of kindness for someone else in his name. Services were entrusted to LaHAYNE FUNERAL HOME , 6955 Southeastern Avenue, Hammond, Indiana.Private family services will be held.
