Obituary

Larry D. Jones age 90, passed away peacefully on Friday May 8, 2009 at Community Hospital in Munster, IN. He was born on October 1, 1918 in Iager W.V. He is survived by his of 44 years, Victoria (Nee Hladek-Hohalek) daughter; Rebecca (Tom) Keller of Vero Beach, FL. Son; Dave (Juliet) Jones of Rutherfordton, N.C. step daughter; Carol (Ray) Pahl of Conroe, TX. Step son; Richard Hohalek of Hammond, IN. Preceded in death by step son; Richard Hohalek of San Francisco, CA. in 2003. Also surviving are Two brothers; Newton (Maxine) Jones of Knoxville, TN., and James (Kathryn) Jones of Minneapolis, MN. brother in law; Larry (Aggie) Hladek of Hammond, IN, and sisters in law; Marge Motes of Hammond, IN., Elsie Palikan of Highland, IN., and Lorraine Gibson of McDonough, GA. Three grandchildren; Kurt (Nickie) Keller, Ryan Keller, and Eric (Judy) Keller, eight step grandchildren; Xanthe Hohalek, Jeff (Leesa) Bogert, Bremmen (Mary) Pahl, Deven (Tanya) Pahl, Nicole (David) Whol, Richard (Maelynn) Hohalek, Jason (Vala) Hohalek, and Natalie (Thad) Hillenbrand. Also surviving are seventeen great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday May 13, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. from LaHayne Funeral Home 6955 Southeastern Ave. Hammond, IN with Rev. Charles Mosley Officiating burial to follow at St. John/St. Joseph Cemetery Hammond, IN. Friends are invited to visit with the family Tuesday May 12, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. The Dunes Masonic Lodge 741 will hold services at 7:00p.m and American Legion Post 369 service at 7:30 p.m. in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Lung Association 115 W. Washington St. Suite 1180-South Indianapolis, IN 46204. Larry and his Wife Vickie, enjoyed 20 winter years in Punta Gorda Fl, Until Hurricane Charley destroyed their condo on Friday August 13, 2004. Larry was a Regional Sales Manager for Robertshaw Controls Co. retiring in 1984 with 44 years of service. He was a World War II Veteran of the 10th Mountain Division and was Honorably Discharged from the 1281 ST. Engineers Combat Battalion Army of the United States on November 3, 1945. Larry was a member of the American Legion Post 369, a member of the Shiners' of North America, and the Orak Motor Patrol, Michigan City, IN Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Vallley of South Bend Consistory 32 degree, and the Dunes Lodge No. 741 F &A.M. in Portage, In.
