Kevin "Coach" "Kess" J. Kessler, age 61, of Hammond, passed away suddenly Thursday, May 18, 2017. Beloved brother of Karen (late Tom) Donahue.Devoted uncle of J. T. (Charity) Donahue and Josh (Dana) Donahue. Proud great-uncle of Payton Donahue and Abby Donahue. Son of John W. Kessler. Preceded in death by his mother Martha J. Kessler nee Novak and his brother Keith Kessler. Kevin graduated from Morton class of 1973. He coached American Legion Baseball, and Spohn wrestling and football. At Morton, he was the Assistant Football Coach. At Hammond High, he coached boy's baseball and girl's basketball. He finished his coaching career as a defensive coordinator for Hammond High football. Go Wildcats!! He especially loved the Chicago Blackhawks. In his younger days, Kevin was an avid bowler. A Memorial Service will be on Friday, May 26, 2017 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a Service at 3:00 PM with Reverend Richard "Rick" Orlinski, Pastor officiating at LaHAYNE FUNERAL HOME , 6955 Southeastern Avenue, Hammond, Indiana.
