Kevin A. Hric, age 50, of Hammond, passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 26, 2015. Beloved son of Barbara J. (Robert) Leinweber nee Smiedzinski and his paternal father Ronald A. Hric. Loving brother of Kandi (Jeffrey) Gutierrez and William (Melissa Medrano) Leinweber. Proud uncle of Kyle and Jeremy Gutierrez, and Acelin and Logan Leinweber. Dearest cousin of Harold "Shorty" Riner, Robin Yager, Lora Smiedzinski, and Carla Bates. Preceded in death by his grandparents Joseph and Augusta Smiedzinski and William and Margaret Leinweber, his uncle Robert (late Joanne) Smiedzinski, his aunt Joann "Pee Wee" (late Harold) Riner, and his cousin Sheryl Tignor. Kevin was a huge Blackhawks fan as well as a huge fan of the city of Chicago. He even lived for a time in the Marina City Towers. Kevin had a cockatiel, a cat named Tiger Paw, and also had many dogs, with Tut being his favorite. Some people called Kevin the dog whisperer.
