Kevin Patrick McGing, "Big Dad", age 57, of Hammond, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on Friday, January 08, 2016. Beloved husband to his best friend, Lisa L. McGing nee Wojcik, for 32 years. Loving father of Melissa McGing, Gregory (Kristen) McGing Lindsey McGing, and Daniel McGing. Devoted son of Patrick J. McGing. Cherished brother of Brian (Phoebe) McGing and Maureen (Gary) McGing. Proud grandfather of Jaxon and an expected grandchild in July 2016. Fond nephew, uncle, cousin, and friend to many. Preceded in death by his mother Mary E. McGing nee Homan. Kevin was a hardworking man who loved his family. He retired from Arcelor Mittal Local 1010 on September 1, 2015, after 37 years of service. He was a great story teller who enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, golfing, Notre Dame, Florida trips, and crossword puzzles. He fought a gallant fight with lung cancer until the end. Kevin is, and will always be, remembered as a great man! He was loved by many and will be missed by more! #KEVSTRONG.
