Keith David Speaks, age 72, of Highland, IN., passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2024.

Keith is survived by his wife, Virginia; children: David (Amy) Speaks and Kassia (Richard) White; grandchildren: Adam Mehidi, Julian White and Dominic White; brother, Kevin (Angela Conner) Speaks; numerous cousins.  He was preceded in passing by his parents: Keith and Jenny Speaks.

Friends are invited to visit with the family on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at LaHayne Funeral Home located at 6955 Southeastern Avenue, Hammond, IN.

Keith graduated from Hammond High School Class of 1970.  He went on to receive a Bachelor's Degree in 1974 from Ambassador College in Pasadena, CA and later a Master's Degree in Latin American Studies from California State University Los Angeles.  He worked for a Spanish language magazine, sharing his love of the Spanish language and culture until 1993.  Keith served as Director of Neighborhoods, Inc from 1999 until its closing in 2017.  In his retirement he enjoyed working for various delivery services.  He loved travelling and spending time making "Yard Art".  He enjoyed sports and was an avid Purdue Boilermakers and White Sox fan. Keith will be missed by all who loved him.
