Kathren "Kay" I. Hansen nee Hard, of Calumet City, IL, age 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, July 7, 2018. Beloved wife for 60 years to Wayne Hansen. Loving mother of Diane (Terry) Baker and David (Susan) Hansen. Cherished sister of Daniel (Linda) Hard. Proud grandmother of Shane (Dianna) Baker and Connor Baker. Dearest great-grandmother of Liam Baker and Keegan Baker. Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents Roland Hard and Dorothy Hard nee Stump. Kay was a member of the First United Lutheran Church in Hammond, IN since 1960 where she was a former Church Council President, a member of the Alter Guild, Naomi Circle, Choir, and Bible Study Group. She belonged to Bunco Club, River Oaks Mall Walkers and the Art Institute where she was a lifelong lover of the arts. Kay was loved by many and will be missed by more. Friends are invited to celebrate Kay's life with her family on Saturday, July 14, 2018 from 9:30 AM until time of Service of 10:30 AM with Rev. Christopher D. Wendel, Pastor officiating at First United Lutheran Church, 6705 Hohman Ave., Hammond, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Hospice of the Calumet Area.
