Katherine Stengel Nee Matrinetz age, 85, of Griffith, IN passed away Sunday May 10, 2009. She is survived by two daughters; Patricia Stengel, and Denise (Darrell) Fulkerson, four sisters; Julia Budney, Helen Itczak, Sue (Jim) Smith, and Betty Dunfee, two brothers; Charles Matrinetz, and Frank (Mildred) Matrinetz, four grandchildren; James (Jane) Johnson, Michele (Clint) Johnson, John (Stacy) Michalik, and Michael Michalik, ten great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Katherine is preceded in death by her husband; Julius Stengel, two sisters; Annie Dunham, and Mary Fronek. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday May 13, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. at LaHayne Funeral Home 6955 Southeastern Ave. Hammond, IN. With burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery Hammond, IN.
