June E. Goddard (nee Hann), age 86, of Munster, IN passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2010. She is survived by a son, Bob (Laurie) Goddard; grandson, Paul (Laura) Goddard; and 2 grandchildren, Alexis and Jacob. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, in 2003 and a brother, Everett Hann. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family with burial at Ridgelawn Cemetery, Gary, IN. LaHayne Funeral Home, 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond, IN is in charge of arrangements. June's fond memories and stories of growing up in open, rural Munster, never ceased to amaze everyone. She took great delight and pride in her childhood pony and their adventures through Munster farmland. Back in the day, she was known for specimen Irises and Daylillies up "on the Ridge." Spring blossoms can be found throughout the region thanks to her sharing. Delighted to escape and tend to the raspberry bushes, she spent hours gardening while Fred worked long Railroad hours. Of course, her greatest source of pride and joy was adopting and doting on son, Bob. June's life was further enriched watching grandson, Paul, and great grandchildren, Alexis and Jacob spend countless childhood hours playing on the property. In the years since Fred's death, June found strength and courage to become independent and enjoyed walking to all her errands and caring for the property.
